were can i buy a sleeve to run 2XAW18650's in a 2C MAG61...using 2 AW C cells at the moment

At the hardware store. I use PVC pipe. Take the light and batteries and you will find the right size.

If you can't find a pipe that does the trick, I can make you a sleeve out of delrin or aluminum, if you can give me dimensions.

A piece of 1/2" Flexible PVC Pipe found in the sprinkler isle at Home Depot
Made by Orbit marked 1/2" x 24" Flexible PVC Pipe Cost is about $1
Look at this thread I have instructions and picture of how it looks.

If your going to change batteries alot go with delrin it will make life so much simpler. Ill come back and post dimensions that it needs to be tonight of the one I have.

i like your DIY thread, as it is given me more ideas for the 2C MAG........it is one of my favorite lights all the same!

if you can post exact dimensions of the 2C MAG...i don't have the correct tools yet!

Tube Specs.

OD 1.025 inch (26mm)
ID 0.75 inch (19mm)
Length can not get it with my mics in one measure. It is just a tic under 4 inches so 100mm would be perfect.

This fits the tube perfect, it also has a O ring notch about 0.5 inch from the end to make it friction fit the tube at the rear. That way the tube wont fall out during bat changes.

Hope that helps,
Bill

I use to use 3/4 inch auto heater hose to hold 2x18650 in a 2C Mag.It's a tight fit so I sprinkled a little talc on it.You do have to slit it open length wise with a knife.

I mad mine out of some high tech Aerospace materials.

LOL
Mines not all that fancy, but come on man cardboard??:nana:
Go spend $1 at home depot!
I use this set up on my LED 2C because it will last a whole shift without having to change batteries. But on incans I use the plastic because of the short runtime and having to swap batteries alot.

what sort of runtime differences would there be running a 2C MAG61 with 2XIMR26500 and runtime on 2XAW18650?

the cardboard idea is wicked.......people go to some lenghts modding their flashlights!

Run time....
Math based, not real world test time.
I think the 5761 draws 5500mA at the tail cap....So using DM51's formula...

mAh of the battery / mA draw of the bulb
x60 to get mins.
/80% (usable battery life to prevent over discharge)

IMR26500 = 20mins
IMR18650 = 13mins

would there be much more runtime with AW18650's?

I don't think the protected 18650's will run a 5761. I believe with that much draw the protection will kick in.

They will run a 1111 fine.

In fact I just went and tested it. No the 5761 will not run with the protected 18650.
You will need the IMR's.

i've just ordered 2XIMR26500's they will have to do for my 2C MAG61.......thanks for checking that for me!!!

i also have a 2C MAG60 which is brighter than a WA1111! will AW18650's work with this or will i have to get IMR18650's for it?

Dude, I hate to break it to you but the off the charger voltage of 26500's is way more than the 5761 can handle...
