Ive been reading alot about the 2c mag and the phillips 5761 build and im extremly interested! Ive also been reading alot about having a to slow start these and i do understand why because of cold filament temp and the sudden voltage spike, but i was just wanting to hear from people that had these without a slow start switch, the ones that are using the KIU switch as i would be doing. How long can you expect the bulb to last in just a standard modified KIU C switch? if it blows them rather quickly ill go with something else but if its a gradual thing its not a problem because theyre only like $5 each.

also: i forgot to mention id be using the AW C cells****

ok ive read alot about it, thanks by the way for the info! so excuse my ignorance but im just trying to understand something, i get almost everything except the NTC's that are keep being mentioned. If i use one of these NTCs devices it takes care of the resistance enough that i dont have to use soft start? Also how do you go about connecting this in the tailcap? ive seen several ways but id just like someone to explain it simplified with pics if possible lol

All the info you need is at your fingertips. You just have to SEARCH for it.

Type NTC tailcap into the Google Search box at the top of this page.
There are plenty of pictures and easy to follow how-to instructions within the first ten Google hits. NTC devices are explained in detail.

You might want to get a fresh mug of coffee first though as there is a lot of great info to read through. It will keep you in your chair for a while, that's for sure.
