I am thinking of buying one of the above torches for road use. I have a nice light which has a bit of a flood beam and I am interested in a spot similiar to a dereelight cl1h3 with op reflector. I currently use one of these and it is ok, but I find the run time of 80 minutes a bit limiting. I am thinking one of the above on medium (solarforce) or high (fenix) should be as bright as the dereelight and last 3+ hours and if I want more light for a shorter ride I can always run the torch on maximum.
i have a supply of sanyo 2700 mah nimh battereies and some aw 18650's.
Ps i am a bit concerned about mounting a fenix as I have two fish lock blocks and 2 of the larger size suited for torces up to 30 mm diameter. If anyone has used a fenix tk40 i would be interested how it was mounted.
