Hi,

Ive just been surfing eBay, and stumbled upon a store selling "Solarforce" flashlights for very low prices, Ive never heard of this company before - but my first thought on seeing the range was "Surefire - look-alikes"

I mean a 900 Lumen rechrgeable flashlight for £35.50 (about $70) with FREE postage worldwide from Hong Kong.

Thats some pretty good value!!!!

anyone have any experience with these? I know a higher price doesnt mean a better torch, but these are really good value.

That's indeed a great price, I'm tempted to try one of those. Bookmarked the seller. I have heard of this brand before but I'm not sure where!

This is not Solarforce flashlight there are only solarforce batteries added. You can find flashlights made by Solarforce at the manufacturer webpage http://www.solarforce.hk
From my experience they are well built, have excellent performance (except some buggy P60 drop-ins) and have reasonable price.

Howdy,
I ordered a Solarforce R2 5mode from "flashlight_express" on ebay last week. I expect it to arrive this week so I'll let you know. I only have one other CR123A light and it is a single cell. The only thing that concerns me here is his listing said "-3.7- volt 123 cell" I am hoping this is a typo since most all the info I gathered here before buying had people using regular CR123A's. I got it for $27 free shipping (just have to wait for it to come from china,) which I believe was a fairly good deal.

Nice one. I think the 123 batteries might just be the rechargable kind as they are rated as 3.7v in his store.

I once emailed battery junction concerning their rechargeable 123's regarding their use in my Inova X5's - and they said the extra volts wont do any harm to the torch - but still i preferred using the disposables i didnt want to risk it.

I have a Solarforce L2 -- has a Solarforce R2 drop in. It's very bright and has not failed me yet. I even grabbed it in a hurry out my door once instead of my C2, and didn't realize until I got to work... Carried it as my duty light all night long (something I would never do, as it's reliability hasn't been tested enough for my liking). I actually had to use it that night to clear an abandoned residence (which had the hydro shut off to it) that had been broken into -- and two persons were found inside, which were arrested without incident.

Got quite a few comments from the guys as to how damn bright it was... mind you for the most part, they are all used to me having the brightest light all the time... :grin2:

I only wish it came with a forward clicky. Reverse clicky's are useless IMHO.

My Solarforce L600 has two things going for it. It's very bright and very cheap. Quality is a joke! Mine came with shaped cork as a buffer between the cells and the lamp assembly. That's right, freaking cork! I heard that later L600s now use a piece of shaped plastic, instead of cork. Can't confirm that though.

My Solarforce L2 host w/ Solarforce R2 drop-in is actually a decent light, with good checkering.

One is decent. The other one is a piece of $#^%.
