Sold/Expired SOLD: 5 Cree XRE R2 Mag 2C

Price gone up slightly due to some improvements I made:

1, The Module in this light is the new 5xR2 module vs. the older 5xCree module in the other light likely was Cree p4.
2, I did a Hybrid hook-up this time, The positive is still hardwired to Mag Switch, but the negative is now by grinding off the top edge of the mag tube & making contact w/o the wire. Less wires, less risk for failure.

The Hybrid set-up servers as a "Warning System", it tells you if you accidentally jammed a wire when putting head
back in if you ever to take it apart, as it won't turn on. make sure to push the center wire back into the tube.

3, The "winkles in the reflector" are gone. I grind down the top edge facing the front to allow less grinding
from the side & still be able to screw the bezel all the way in. Thus, didn't grid as far to cause "wrinkles" inside the reflector.

I am not interested in making another one, only made this because I had something to improve upon.
I also don't do custom mods for "jobs', thanks for all the requests I got & CPFer's vote of confidence.
Spec:

• Brand New Mag 2C in Black color
• 5xCree XRE R2 Module driven by 15W 5xCree driver
• 5 Modes, Hi, Med, Low plus fast/slow strobes.
• Powered by 2x Li-ion.
• Grind down the top & and side rim to fit mag head
• Grind down the top mag tube to establish negative contact
• Hi = 800mA per LED or 15-16W total power
• Estimated around 1200 led lumens by mfg.
• Perfectly shaped, small & round hot spot
• This will blow away the new Malkoff XPG drop-in, old Malkoff Triple XRE, P7, MCE, or SST-50 or SST-90 on regular Mag sized refletor. Basically blow away just about any led lights using regular mag sized reflector.
• The only thing I have that could beat this light in throw are the SST-50 or SST-90 with Mag Rebel SMO deep reflector.
• will give you up to 2 hours Run time on high depends on what Li-ion you use.
• the 5xCree are nice snow white tint, in perfect alignment,producing a surpricingly nice hot spot that's almost flawless.
• The spill is "flower patterned" but the spot is very nice.

I left the battery tube stock, but there are many ways to run 2xLi-ion in a Mag 2C, the light will Run on:

• 2x18500 protected Li-ion with the a DIY battery sleeve
• 2x18500 un protected Li-ion with the a DIY battery sleeve
• 2x17500 protected Li-ion with the a DIY battery sleeve
• 2x17500 un protected Li-ion with the a DIY battery sleeve

• 2x18650 protected Li-ion with download's Mag Ring (to extend the mag a few mm longer) & recessed spring mod
• 2x18650 IMR 18650 with recessed spring mod, no need for the mag ring
• 2x18650 unprotected li-ion with recessed spring mod, no need for the mag ring
• 2x DX 25500 C-lion, unprotected version (The protected one is too long)
• 2xAW IMR 26500 if bore out the battery tube to 26 mm
• 2x AW old protected C-lion with a an AW C-lion 10mm cell extender

• 2x DX 25500 C-lion, protected version with a an AW C-lion 10mm cell extender

Since this is the last 5xCree I am am making, If anyone wants it in a different color, I have another Brand New Mag 2C in Titanium Grey/Gun Metal color that I can swap in at no additional cost to the buyer.

many have never seen a silver Mag 2C. I can off that option for $25 Extra.

Not possible by me Donn, That's more advance electronics than I could handle.
There was a guy posted that he played with this driver & claim that he "cracked the code".

The driver has memory, I almost only use the hi mode, it'll remember next time to turn on to Hi.
So I never find strobes bothersome.

I appolagize that my lack of communications Today has created much confusion.

I have two XP-G R5 modules, with optics, just dying to go into something. One is 4X and the other is 7x.

For XPG,

Driver: I like the 2x800ma parallel driver 8.4V, 1.6A total.
Optics: The best I've seen is LXP, but too small for mag.
Reflector: The best I've seen is Sputtered Stock one, I bought a bunch made by SPC & sold a few XPG mag with it but may still have one left.
Heat sink: I have a brass one left.

I can certainly use whatever you send over.

I'll put a spiked SS bezel ring on it, which will eliminate that flaw pretty quick.

The Mirage_man Camo isn't a 2c. It's smaller.

We'll have to decide whether to use the 4x or 7x XP-G module.

All I want is a 2 or 3 level light..no strobes. A D2Flex will work for me, and I can power the thing with pretty much anything.

It would be better for the forum if we discuss via email. That way we don't tie up the B/S/T with discussion.

Donn, I am afraid I'll have to turn this down, it's deviating into a completely different light & start to sound more & more like a "job" to me. I don't have enough time right now to put some of my own crazy mod ideas into reality.
