This perfectly executed mod by Fivemega just arrived a couple of days ago and I checked it out for function and, of course, it works perfectly.
However, I have my eyes on something Fivemega will be selling shortly and need to sell this to help pay for it.
This is a brand new, black, Maglite 2D. It has been modified with a machined aluminum reflector that is either the Light Orange Peel (LOP) or the Medium Orange Peel (MOP). One of Flashlightlens.com's superlative glass UCL's (Ultra Clear Lens) has replaced the stock polycarbonate lens so that you get the best beam you can get out of this light.
It's running the Welch Allen WA-1111 Lamp at about 500 Lumens of output.
The 2xD cells are replaced by two ElektroLumens 3AA to D adapters.
This runs on 6xAA NiMh rechargable cells. Varooj recommends Sanyo 2100mah.
In loading up the 3AA to D adapters be careful to load them for proper polarity orientation by following the easily understood instructions on the battery adapters.
