Here's a do-it-all HAIII MiniMag kit for any purpose.
Components:
2xAA tube, HAIII-NAT
1xAA tube, HAIII-NAT
Stock tail, HAIII-NAT
Stock head, HAIII-NAT, custom smooth reflector, tuned to the light engine, with mineral glass lens.
Crenelated SS bezel for stock head.
H22A TurboHead, HAIII-NAT, McR-27L reflector, and 2x31mm Schott B270 lens
Light engine: Download's Cree XP-G R5 1B emitter on a plated brass heat sink.
Operating Voltage: 1-3V
LED current: 400mA
Current drawn from battery:
1.6A (1x eneloop)
0.7A (2x eneloop)
Easy as pie to move from tube to tube, using included wrench.
Misc:
Extra lens for each head.
Installation tool.
I've been collecting the parts which make up this kit for almost 3 years. Download's drop-in XP-G LE was the final component needed, and it arrived today. I popped it into a 2xAA and a 1xAA, and it just works flawlessly. It's by far the best easy-add upgrade I've seen for the MiniMag. There's no difference I can see in brightness between the 1xAA and 2xAA application...just longer runtime with the 2xAA.
Based on download's battery draw numbers, we're looking at about an hour and a quarter on 1xAA Eneloop, and nearly 3 hours on 2x AA Eneloops.
The emitter is under-driven at 400mA, so heat is not an issue, but output exceeds anything I've seen in a MiniMag, due to the characteristics of the XP-G emitter. Tint is cool, but not cold, and pure white.
$200 $190$180+ PPI (Priority Mail, Paypal fee and Insurance). *SOLD*
No parting out, but I will always consider trades.
