Brand new Coast 7798 Dimm and Dive, Frogman version modded by me with an SSC P4 USWOH (pure white) emitter. Waterproof to 195 feet!

The light uses Coast's new dimming tail switch, which allows you to dial up any level of light from low to high. Low is pretty low...on par with Fenix's line of lights. From off, you can rotate the switch to go directly to low, or directly to high, depending on which way you rotate it. I find that feature very useful...no need to start on high if all you want to do is guide your way around the house in the middle of the night... and having direct access to high when you need it is a plus.

The switch also works on Coast's 7438 Focusing Lenser and 7736 Tac Torch V2.

Comes with a holster, batteries, and lanyard.

Here's a link for a bit more info (mostly about the dimming switch): http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2144610

:::SOLD::: $68 shipped. Paypal only, U.S. only.

First to post "I'll take it" will be sent my Paypal address. Thanks!

Is this dimmer easy to turn? Is it clockwise and counterclockwise turning? Looks very cool. What's the 1.87 and 51 numbers on the package?

flash crazy, which do you think is a better light, this one or, the "Must Have" Light for Flashaholics?

Yes, the dimmer is easy to turn...almost too easy. You can turn it either clockwise or counterclockwise. Clockwise (viewed from the rear) turns it on, starting at high. Continued turning in that direction ramps down the brightness. Counterclockwise is just the opposite...it comes on at low, then continued turning ramps up the brightness.

On the package, it says 1.87 maximum wattage, and 51 lumens. Of course this changes after the mod, since the the Vf's of the LED's are different. The wattage should be close, but the modded light will put out more lumens due to the more efficient SSC emitter...I estimate about 100 lumens.

Well, it depends on your needs. The "Must Have" light that I sell has way more throw. This light here has a more general purpose beam...it has a very even beam, the outer edge of the beam is just as bright as the center. The "Must Have" light's beam, although it appears quite even in this regard, has a brighter hotspot. The light here is smaller and lighter, and has a better textured surface... great grip.

All in all, the "Must Have" light is brighter and has more throw...very impressive. The light here is smaller, and has a slightly better beam for indoor use and close-up work. Plus it's completely waterproof.
