Can some one tell me if Uniross AA 2100mAh Ni-MH batteries are ok to use with the Opalec Newbeams? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I know nothing about electronics and dont want to damage the Newbeam module. Hope some one can Help?

Since the Opalec module is fully regulated you may use NiMH,NiCd, Lithium, Alkaline or even crappy "heavy duty" cells... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're welcome. Those high capacity cells should be just as good as alkaline cells during the regulated runtime. I guess you'll get around 10 hours of bright light but a rather short period of diminishing brightness, whereas alkalines will give you 10 hours bright plus a couple of hours slowly decreasing output.

Chris, this was the hoped for answer. I have been impressed by the 1800mAH Ni-MH's These appear much better....thanks again.
