Received my Arc LSHF-P today. After reading comments about how you had to look at the fraen lens to be able to distinguish it from the LSH-P, I was pleasantly surprised to find it clearly engraved "LSHF-P 0006" on the head.

This next comment may seem to be stating the bleedin' obvious /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif but you really need your eyes to be dark-adjusted to fully appreciate this little beauty. When I first took it outside, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of peripheral light that was produced. However, after a couple of minutes my eyes adjusted and the output was transformed into a bright focused beam with enough side spill to negotiate my garden path quite comfortably. The beam really is white and is by far the brightest of the Arcs that I've owned (Arc LS2 and ARC LSL-P). It is too bright for really close up work but a plastic cap placed over the lens diffuses the light nicely. No sign of any "farkle" and to my eyes, an absolutely perfectly centered luxeon.

Arrived in 4 days from the US from Meridian Tactical and WELL worth the money.

I made a diffuser for my LSHF-P from a clear 35mm film canister. I centered the lite on the lid, drew circle, then cut out with xacto knife. The small size of the can does seem to cause some heat build up, but I havnt run into any problems yet.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I also used a film cannister and put some pin holes into the surface to try to dissipate any heat build up, although I'm not sure that this is strictly necessary.

Hello Dirobesh,

I wonder when the changed the engraving on the LSHF-P units. Mine simply states LSH-P.

I would guess mine was modified and yours was built with the intention of using the Fraen optic.

I am enjoying mine as well.

Tom
