Hey guys, I need some advice on sandwich shoppe dropin led sandwiches. I've done a lot of reading and found the instructions, just curious how well they work and what they compare to light output-wise. I've got about 2 dozen various form 3v'ish minimags with tlex5 terralux dropins, and love em. I'd like to find something in the 3-7v range that's led that puts out a bit more light. There isn't much info on the site about specs, only a bunch of mAh ratings and some pretty steep prices. I'd gladly pay 50-75 bucks for a dropin that compares to my malkoff surefires. The curiosity is killin me, any input from experienced users greatly appreciated.

None of these drop-ins will come close to your Malkoffs. However, one of them with a newer LED could put out 100 lumens out the window easily.

The problem with the sandwiches is that they don't offer the best in heat sinking in such a small light.

These that Darkzero made are very nice!

oo ok good to know. I'm very happy with the terralux x5. It puts out somewhere in the 100 range i believe on good power. I've got it running off everything from a single cr2 in a modified insight x2 weapon lite, to a single rcr123 short maglite to a vintage railroad lite. It's great quality and durability so far for a 25 dolla mod. No heatsinking, just on a circuit board, but it really doesn't need it. If the bigger badder led's can't put out more light or dramatically more runtime, I'll probably stick with the tried and true. Thanks for the input. ;)

The Darkzero mods should put out more than 100 lumens being powered by the GD917, and the heat sinking is much better.
