I really like the smaller head diameter of the E2DL for EDC. But it is still pretty large compared to a 1xCR123.
The hard thing for me, is to not worry about the maximum amount of light. It is part of being a flashfreak to go for the max, but in reality I always carried a Fenix PD20 for general use, and it is plenty of light for most tasks, and usually was used on lower settings. Most of the other lights are more for play then real use.
I just got an Olight I10, to replace the PD20, and it has a forward clicky, infinite light adjustment, and best of all, takes a 16340 lithium. Running a 16340 in the PD20's messes up the low settings, and they are just bright. The I10 has an R2 bin emitter, and is rated at 205 LM (more like 180). It is small and bright. Actualy pretty cool, and does the job, yet I always look for more. The question is why?
So while I just love to play with the big lumen guns, and light up the neighborhood with an HID. This little unexciting light is the workhorse that gets used everyday. And most of the time, max is too much light. Go figure. And I still want an LX2 just to have one, but I sure don't need it.
