Hi everyone,
i just bought 4 Sony Cycle Energy AAAs 800mah coded as NH-AAA-B4K. I have heard that Sanyo is their OEM so they should do fine. But i am confused about one thing. when i received my batteries, i saw that the text written on the packaging was different from the one seen on sony' site. Originally it says 'Ready To Use At Any Time' but the ones i received have the text 'Pre-Charged' written on them. else everything is identical.
Also one more thing concerns me. i thought that they should have been 'made in japan' BUT they say 'made in china' am a bit confused...r these genuine?

kindly help.
Thanks

I googled around, it seems that those are indeed made in china probably the same as rayovac hybrids not eneloops.

here is a cut and paste from an amazon review:
Contrary to all the comments and reviews on the internet there is a big difference between CycleEnergy and Eneloop .
Cycle energy from Sony are Made in China and enloops what I own are Made in Japan
I just received today , so dont know if the will perform as well as the Sanyo's eneloop.

I am skeptical that they wont perform to the same level , also the top crown is also white in color on +ve terminal of the Batteries , so its not a rule that if the crown is white , it will be Made in Japan.

so should i be happy or not....also the text written on the packaging was different from the one seen on sony' site. Originally it says 'Ready To Use At Any Time' but the ones i received have the text 'Pre-Charged' only written on them. what should i do about this?

There's nothing to do. Manufacturers are generally free to change details of products from time to time and your cells seem to be as they should be. 'Ready to use at any time' and 'Pre-charged' are equivalent descriptions.

If you are really keen to have Sanyo Eneloops it is best to buy actual Eneloops rather than another brand.

Hi Mr Happy,
yeah those r equivalent descriptions but i was a bit doubtful...i just hope that they perform well.

I have seen both good and bad reports on non eneloop LSD cells, I have a lot of rayovac hybrids I got for $5 a 4 pack long ago then got a bunch of duraloops for $8 a 4 pack but most of the cells in use are rayovacs and so far my only complaint is some that were overdischarged lost 1/3 or more capacity (it is possible they were reverse charged). Other than that they work like they are supposed to. You put them in stuff and instead of having to recharge them every 1-3 months you recharge them once every 4-8 months while using them. In retrospect I would probably use up a set of alkalines every 6 months so the LSD cells are getting charged at about normal rate of replacement while the non LSD cells have to be charged from 2-6 times as often. If I were buying more cells I would weigh price and usage on what to buy. For utility use, just to replace alkalines on occasional use items I would consider the non eneloops based upon price while for heavy and often used items I would use eneloops. I would estimate the forum "value" on non eneloop vs eneloop cells is about 3:2. or if a pack of eneloops were $12/pack, most would be tempted to buy non eneloop at a price of $8/pack for general use.

When you buy Sony Cycle Energy cells, make sure the package does say "pre-charged", "ready to use", or equivalent. There are Sony Cycle Energy cells that aren't LSD -- I bought some not long ago. The only obvious difference in the cells themselves are that they're silver rather than white, but with the same orange band near the bottom.

hi Curious_character, yes i made that sure and they have 'Pre-Charged' written on them. their top crown is white and 'cycle energy' is surrounded by a 'Blue' band.
anyways i have started the testing of these cells on my mh c9000. will post the results here when done :)

also made in japan, as all the chinese made cells will NOT be eneloops at all.

hi everyone. here r the results of these cells.

Results of Sony Cycle Energy(Pre-Charged) AAAs 800mah batteries:

Out-of-The-Box Capacities

Cell 1- 577mah
Cell 2- 574mah
Cell 3- 534mah
Cell 4- 532mah

Capacities after one Break-In Cycle in C9000:

Cell 1- 765mah
Cell 2- 762mah
Cell 3- 738mah
Cell 4- 729mah

Not as good as Eneloop AAAs but they r ok.
