Last night the fog rolled in THICK at around 2:00am.

The photo u see above is my street in HEAVY fog...and that would be my car. What is that thing resting on top of the car?

....it's my LSI 1 Million CP spotlight! I lit up the shot with my Surefire E2 a few feet above the camera. See how foggy it is? My E2 beam looks like a light beam from Heaven or something...anyway......i turned on my Spotlight...

Here it is on top of my dad's truck! I'm standing about 50 yards away.

Great shots, LEDagent. Maybe soon I'll give you some competition using the LA area coastal fog.

Nice pics. Could you take some beam shots next time?

IMO, fog is the coolest condition to utilize a flashlight. It's really nice to see all the particles light up. Oh, how I would loooooooove to see a Maxabeam cut through the fog (preferably held in my own hand)...

it was foggy here the other night also...

i took out some of my 3d mods and my ultrastinger.

i was semi-surprised to find that the beam of my mods was almost as bright as my us, but did not throw as far.

it was unfortunately quite bright however...pitch black would have been nicer...

I used my Olympus C-700 digital camera in manual mode.

....so both.

I can't afford an expensive SLR film camera, and i sure as heck can't afford a digital SLR camera. So i'll have to settle with the pictures taken by my Olympus. It does a decent job for what it is, but i wish it could do more.

It's talents mainly reside in its ability to take 10x OPTICAL zoom shots and fully manual capabilities. I can control its shutter speed from 16 seconds to 1/1000 of a second, it's apature settings, and exposure.

But the downsides to this camera are its inabiliy to focus well at night. I wish it had night assisted shots like the Sony F-707. I wish it had the macro abilities of the NIkon 800 or 900 series. And I wish it could take night shots like an SLR digital camera.

The night shots on the Olympus are decent and noise free down to a 6 second shutter. But anything longer than 6 seconds is when you will start seeing noise, even at it's lowest ISO setting (100).

I hope this helps.
