Arrived today , next it goes into the MTE , I will just do a straight LED swap and see how it goes .

Super Warning
The LENS on the LED is held on with a minute amount of ? Silicone ? and is fragile beyond belief ..

I had to make some small cuts in the star and I was being very careful when the LENS popped off .

Be warned ,

I was able to superglue the lens back , but looks like users need to be super careful .

OK @ 2.5A with the same driver etc , it just cant compete with a SSC P7 .
As a direct swap , its performance is on about par with a R2 .

One might try direct drive ?

Well , I tried my other light box , and it was a little better , but still not good
430Lux for the SST - 50 and my underdriven SSC P7's did 530Lux , a MTE driven SSC - P7 ? - ill have to put it back into the MTE then ill let you know .
566Lux With the SSC P7 back or 130 Lux more , or 24%
 Hmmm , not what one expected .

I think this might be a Vf issue , we need more Voltage . So it just might mean current SSC MC-E drivers dont cut the SST mustard .

If your SST-50 is of a low bin there is nothing surprising in these results.

Highest bin = Twice the lumens of the lowest bin.

Is this even comparable to a Cree MC-E? I think if you're going for easy installation you can't beat the size compatibility of the MC-E since it's the same physical size as XR-E's.

Not much in it

I believe sst50, xr-e, and mc-e can use the same mcpcb (as long as you want your mc-e dice paralleled)

Thanks for the pic =)
