Stanley LED mod

has anyone attempted mod'n the 3 LEDs on the stanley yet? if so, i'd love to hear some details on it. if not, what does anyone think of maybe 3 1/2W crees? im getting a full 12v direct from the SLA to the LED board, from there it changes to around 11 thru the 3 LEDs, (i use "around" voltages because i only have an analog VM) i'd like to upgrade to a brighter set then the 5mm's that are stock but i don't need uber bright, thats what the HID is for! lol... anyways, any and all suggestions would be welcome. the stock board does not have the heatsinking power that 1w and up would require, not even sure about 1/2w, but i do know i'd like a warmer light from those as well as maybe 150lm's each? is that asking to much? i'd still like to keep the stock switch, unless i can fit a multi mode driver in there, with maybe a moonlite mode?

I had to respond to this since nothing is worse than having a question and no one weighing in on it.

I remember a while back posting something to this effect but it may have been deleted during the last forum "issue." Anyway, a good mod to do right from the start is to simply bypass the OEM circuitry that sends 11V to those LED's. By that I mean ensuring that the cluster gets a feed directly from the battery. This way they'll stay on and stay bright. (Why go without these when the battery is showing red?) From there I'm sure you can upgrade to better LED's if you so choose and I don't see any harm in that.

By the way, I'm still searching the forums for whoever came out with a constant overdrive mod for the ballast end of things on this light. Stanley/Baccus just really should have done what its customer base wanted, heh.
