Step by step conversions

Could someone point me in the direction of step by step flashlight mods? I've seen a lot of sites that have finished products and I'd like to try it myself. I'm particularly looking for D cell *ag to Luxeon Star mods.

Use the info from the az123 site and do some changes. Cut a circle of aluminum to replace the reflector and mount the LS/o on it with some thermal paste. Run a wire from positive contact on the LS to the postive contact on the flashlight. Do the same for the neg. Use a 3 cell M*g. This will be very bright.
I left out some details but this is the general way to get a bright light.
