Stinger LED C4 (NiMH battery ok)?

Does anyone know if it's ok to run a NiMH battery like in the link below in a newer stinger C4 LED? Good friend of mine who is a sheriff's deputy is wanting to get a couple replacement batteries for his stinger led C4, just want to make sure these batteries won't cook it.

The light will work without issue. However, I wouldn't trust the reliability of Ebay battery sticks.

Also, the Streamlight quick charger (tan base) will not fully charge the NiMH stick, and the slow charger (black base) will take about two times the normal charge time .

When I was developing the high capacity battery sticks for Stingers and Surefire rechargeables (B90 replacements) I found that the SL fast charger shuts off as a safety measure, after (approximately) 2.5 hours of fast charging, and would sometimes "false peak" and turn off before the stick was fully charged.
