Evnin all, question on Stinger XT batteries. How long will they hold a charge when not used, as kept in a vest as backup? I only have experience with radio bats and they lose about 10% per month. Are these the same. Thanks.
Mutt,
I would say in a months time they would be more like 50 percent discharged. This is from experience not from a meter. I would make sure the batteries have a full charge evey two weeks.
Also make sure those batteries that are not in a light are properly store in a non-conductive holder. I started my brief case on fire once when the top came off my Surefire battery (8X rechargeable) holder and it shorted out against a cuff key. I grabbed that cuff key and had the Safariland emblem burnt into my thumb for quite awhile.
Generic Stinger batteries can be bought at TexasTacticalSupply.com. They sell for less than $10.00 apiece not counting shipping.
That would be kind of a cool brand to lie about,if a little painfull. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
