Hey Guys,

For long term storage, which AA battery can I keep in a flashlight without worrying about leakage?

Thanks

Hi,

Lithium batteries will do just fine.

edit: Alkaline batteries should not be use for long term storage in your light unless you would like to clean it before use.

Will they last as long in the flashlight as stated on the package?

they should last as long as batteries sitting in a package next to the light itself, that is if there is no vampiric current drain in the light itself.

On most lights you can loosen the tailcap which will break the circuit so no power at all will flow - then the batteries will last as long as they would in a packet.

Li-ion or Eneloops are probably the best options for the batteries.
