I have a couple cases of surefire batteries qty 800 that I want to store in my garage and I'm wondering if the heat during the summer months will effect the batteries in any way. At times it gets to be over 100 degrees in my garage, I see that the label of the batteries say do not heat above 212F so I'm thinking they will be ok in 100 degree heat?

Should be OK since lithiums are more tolerant of extremes of hot and cold. I think a cool dry place is best though.

Yeah would like to keep them in my house however for some reason I just don't trust em'

I keep my Li-ions in the fridge (at 60% capacity) . This reduces the aging also the fridge is pretty solid/airtight in case the cells like to go bad in an nasty way

At 100F, you are approximately doubling the self discharge rate above that of room temperature. Shelf life to 80% is probably 5 years or less.

get a bucket with a tight "o" ring seal in the lid (available at kayak stores, used on 5 gallon pails for waterproof dry storage). Box up the batteries and bag them in a heavy duty bag. Place into bucket and put a pice of cardboard over them. Pour in dry ice pellets and put the lid on LOOSELY. The dry ice will PURGE all the ambient moisture and oxygen out of the bucket and leave it 100% dry and oxygen free inside. The lid can be snapped down when the dry ice is almost gone.

this method works great too for other items, such as firearms for long term storage. Oil them, bag em, stack them in and cover in dry ice, cover with lid 99% tight and all moisture and oxygen is purged out.

ditto for longterm dry food storage
