The mailman bought me a happy today from Amazon.com. They had them on a special for $12.87 with free shipping if your order was over $25, so I got two. I thought what the heck, they were practically giving them away and if I did not like them I could give them away as gifts. These lights are great, I wish that I had ordered all they had for that price, but they withdrew that offer within hours after I placed my order and the price went back up to $30.

These lights are built like a tank and put out a very bright directional flood beam. They do not have near the throw as my 4AA PP Lux does, but they do light up an entire large room and are advertised as having super long run-times.

I do not think that I can give these lights away as gifts, because I only got two and I can see where a super long run-time bright flood beam would come in very handy.

good job getting those lights! Given the runtime they should make great emergency backups.

I have only one and didn't have the time to go online and try to get in on this deal, which is indeed a super deal.

I agree that the beam itself is nothing great, but you do get that blob of light and sometimes that is the important thing.

I also have two of them on the way. I have an older 4AA LED model that has been great. It did need to have it's switch replaced but Streamlight fixed it free under their warranty.

The $32.99 price is sold from another vendor in Amazon's marketplace. When Amazon runs out of stock on something they offer it from somewhere else. I got one of these too at the $12.87 price. I guess Amazon was clearing them out for good so we got a great deal!

I've got a 4AA PP Lux and was comparing them as well. I agree that it's a great floodlight and better suited for the indoors compared to the Lux. Did you notice the runtime chart on the back of the pack? They show distances lit at certain runtimes. With fresh batteries, they show the light throwing 70'. This is all very subjective, but I can't see this light doing half of that with fresh batteries. At the 336 hour mark, it's down to 3'. I guess that answers my question on regulation - doesn't look like much. Too bad - I know the Lux 3C is well regulated. Still a great light and a great price!
