Streamlight CR123A expiration question

I just got some of these from Amazon, theres a number stamped on the batteries 0810...don't know if this is a lot number or an expiration date which would be pretty soon given the fact these are supposed to have a long shelf life.

Anyone familiar with these? I'll post a pic if necessary, thanks

After seeing your post, I went out to the car to check on my Streamlight CR123's.

They were purchased from (the very reputable) Lighthound on Dec 2008, and were stamped 0409. I confess that I don't quite understand SL's system on these, but I very much doubt that there's anything to worry about. Maybe some kind of lot number - definitely not an expiration date.

As shown on the page at Lighthound, Streamlight uses a bit of an odd date format compared to others.

The 0810 means they were manufactured on the 8th week of 2010.

Likewise the 0409 means they were manufactured on the 4th week of 2009.

I have some Streamlight cells that are marked 1108 and 4308.

Thats odd. All of mine say 04-2015 and the ones i just bought say 11-2019. Im guessing that means they are good from 2011 until 2019 :shrug:

Are you sure yours are Streamlight CR123A cells?

That sounds more like the Surefire and Energizer format, which is Month-Year of expiry. Your 04-2015 cells are almost 5 years old.

:ohgeez: I thought the thread said Surefire. Sorry. I just checked my streamlight ones and they say 0810.

See I read that and I thought it must be what you meant when your wrote that Lighthound supplies seriously fresh cells. "Wow, Kestrel bought cells before they were even manufactured..."
