Althought 'not recommended', did you try NiMH recharageables in it?

PhotonBoy: No, I did not try rechargables. As to why 4.5 Stars? 5 Star lights go "above and beyond" in my subjective opinion. For that the JR would need (in my opinion) Pyrex AR lens, Type III HA anodize, Lockout capable switch, etc, etc. Get my drift? If 5 Stars were easy, everyone would get it and it would be meaningless.

1) No typo, it's a low dome - surprised me, too!

2) No, the tailcap will NOT work on a minimag - jams after 1 turn. Tried it on 3 minimags. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am quite sure that this photo shows a high dome Luxeon. This would also mach the comments about the very white - respectively non existent - tint, because I have never heard of a really white LD.

Question....
What would you say is (are) the primary reason (reasons) you gave this light 4.5 stars and the Streamlight Task Light 3AA Luxeon only 4 stars?

Is it the additional length of the Task light?
Is it the lack of a tail switch?

Anything else?
