I have the incandescent model of the Streamlight Scorpion that runs with 2 CR123 batteries. In the interest of saving some money, I purchased a set of rechargeable CR 123s and charger. I charged the batteries, installed them in the flashlight and watched as the bulb blew. Is there a difference in CR 123s? Where and what brand for the best non-re-chargeables? Can I use a re-chargeable? Bulbs are expensive too. Thanks, Dennis

too high initial voltage, too high current standable
Rechargeable CR123a is no option here
:(

I forgot to add, is there a possibility of converting the incandescent bulb to an LED such as is possible with the Mini-mags? Would it then be possible to use the CR 123 re-chargeables? Thanks, Dennis

you have 2 options:

1) change the batteries, I have used the tenergy 3.0v RCR123 with the scorpion bulbs and they work fine if for shorter amount of time (30 minutes vs. 1 hour on cr123)

2) change bulbs, using your current batteries, get the streamlight bulb for their 3 cr123 cell light and it should work.
