In the 20 months you have been here, have you ever considered looking around the other sub-forums and doing some reading? Or have you tried using the search function?

DM51 Relax!

Is this not a discussion forum?

Yes, it is; however it is quite disappointing to see so many people not bothering to do some elementary research. You slightly expect that with noobs, but not with those who have been here a while.

DM51 have you done a search, this is not a common question

Elton you can find them on ebay for $20-25, as far as a led it would have to be custom.

I think any good quality 18650 will do the trick. I´d recommend a wolfeyes 18650 that can be had from

www.pts-flashlights.com

or just go to the AW sales thread in the dealer forum and look at his protected 18650´s. Whatever you do get a protected cell.

BTW, I second DM51´s apparent annoyance since sometimes it is easier to search than open a new thread. Remember moderators and administrators have to keep a certain order and try to save bandwidth.

18650 won't work as the positive and negative terminals of the Strion battery are on the same end.

As already noted the Strion configuration is a Streamlight propriatory battery style and a loose 18650 will not function properly.

BTW, finding where Strion Batteries are sold is a simple google search, not requiring a CPF search, or starting a thread. For CPF searches see this thread, http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=127532

Also, let's not rebuke a moderator when they bring something to our attention.

Has anybody tried taking the Strion's proprietary battery carrier and replacing the stock battery?

I'd have to take a look at my Strion to see if that's even possible...

It's common enough, and I have answered it several times.

The Strion is a good light, but suffers a bit with the bi-pin bulb set-up. The LED Strion, rumor has it, is in development, but SL is tough to crack regarding new/upcoming products. SL usually will not put future products in catalogs, or publish an unreliable release date.

lol i did search but it was pretty useless i guess ebay is my best bet

the best battery to buy is a replacement is the 2007-2008 inova t4 battery available from battery junction. be sure thank the mods for all the help! no led drop in yet :)

tekguy, it would be good if you read rule 4, in this case "baiting". You are baiting a moderator, from my point of view, and it is disruptive to the forum. I would suggest that you edit your post.

Hello Elton - Could you tell us how many charge cycles you got on the original
strion battery? Wondering if your Streamlight charger is doing a good job
and you got the expected number of charge cycles ?

Or was there some event that you think may have shortened its life ?
curious

thanks for the suggestion bill.

my stock battery lost 50 percent of its power 2 years after i bought it. i think its a failure with the contacts. i changed the battery and all is good.

not sure how many charging cycles it went through or how it's my moms flashlight... soo the inova battery a good choice
