Anyone seen one yet? Besides me, I mean. My local gunshop got one in and they let me go into the darkened storeroom with it. Brighter (and without the tinge of blue) than my LSL-P and a battery longer than a MiniGag. Runtime is supposed to be 28 hours. Top switch like a Stinger. Actually a pretty nice looking light.

They are getting in a 2X123 Streamlight in next week. Decisions, decisions!

Glad to hear about the good color; I have one ordered (along with all the other Task Lights except the 2D). The Luxeon lottery bugs me, hope mine is nice and white.

Have not ordered any Twin Tasks yet myself, but why no 2D ? Of all the lights in the catalogue this appeals the most to me,multiple LED modes, long run time etc

Andy

if sl isn't selective with their led's like sf it will hurt sales and be disappointing.

why they don't offer a 1x123 luxeon i don't know.

Andy, I thought a lot about that 2D; I guess it reminded me of a Maglite. The 3C model has a longer run time on the LED's (although only 3/6, and I like the slim light a little better). I have been trying to get down to stocking AA's, C's, and 123's only.

Probably can't resist ordering it later. These look like really nice lights, and a heckava good price also.

Do you think that the majority of Streamlight users will know that Luxeons can be better than those being used by Streamlight?

non cpf members, probably not, nor care. some might prefer a better color/temp but wouldn't know what to do unless they stumbled on this place.

I was actually referring to the hand-picking high quality of Arc's Premium Luxeons, and the Luxeons used by modders that CPF members use as benchmarks.

In production scales, Arc can be very picky because of the limited number of units.
SureFire are a small production company too.
Streamlight on the otherhand are mass-market distributors of products.

CPF Members know about 1W Luxeons and we have certain expectations.

The consumer who knows nothing about Luxeons and has never heard of CPF will likely be very pleased with Streamlights Luxeon products.

If it's as described by DocGlock, I think I too would be very pleased with Streamlight's Luxeon products.

I have heard a good review of it from my respected Dealer.
I'm interested in Brock's runtime/output curves for it.
[Someone needs to send an SL-3AA-LS asap!]

Nice save Al but you have got a bit of a reputation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I've got one of these on order as well. Does anyone know what type of LS it uses, ie LD or SE?
I got the impression that it uses a reflector, not the collimator, in which case an SE would be good..

Al, now you are the one that is now getting off topic. Shame on the administrator.

I think you are needed desperately in "General Flashlight" on the A2 thread. Heaven forbid, some don't LIKE the A2. Pity. With all that R & D involved.

Oh, and Al: Quote:

That's Surefire IS a small, etc, etc.

There have been very few complaints and a lot of compliments on the Everleds. For you to make such an "Off the wall" statement is really premature. If you ever get a chance check out the color on an LS-3. I don't recall one rave review or even compliment on the color or quality of that light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twak.gif

I believe Glockdoc said that the one he tested was whiter and brighter than his LSL-P, which is premium hand picked, and if the lights are manufactured in Taiwan or China and the Luxeons are made in Asia also they may just end up with pick of the litter in Luxeon binning prior to US export which would be good for Streamllight and bad for US manufacturers. I guess it depends on who does their Asian QC and what deals they make in Asia.

Nice to hear its a good light but I guess time will tell how good the QC is.

What's the difference between this 3AA 1W LS light and the CMG Reactor 3? They're both unboosted and unregulated, one just comes in plastic and one in metal.

For starters, the Streamlight Task Light looks so much better than the CMG Reactor 3. It comes in your choice of black or titanium finish. It also has a clicky switch near the head.

Only time will tell if the tasklight's output is any better.
