Strike Bezels and airline carryon

I have no problems carrying on my "stock" L4 or E1B, but what if I were to try to carry a E2DL on board. Has anyone tried? Just curious because I travel a lot.

There has been a few threads about this in the past.

Some say no to be safe, others say they've had no problem.
