Hi, I was looking at the laser engraved beauty of the LI-ON Heart logo and started thinking that it would look quite nice if the logo portion was somehow anodized a contrasting color from the battery tube.

Does anyone know if that is technically possible at this stage of the game? Possible at an earlier time in the manufacturing process? Or, more likely, just a stupid thing to think about!

Thanks,
John Bud

Anodization is more or less a step process:
- clean
- Electro treat in acid (I believe H2SO4)
- rinse
- dye (if used)
- rinse
- boil in hot water

Masking can occur in between steps to obtain different effects. It works, but is rather labor intensive.

It might be easier to carefully have the desired area hand painted by an artist. There are some pretty tough paints out there.
