Super DUPER LGI -- 5,680 Lux

I stuck one of the new Luxeon IIIs in an LGI and it made this:

But of course, I also had to use this:

However, this was simply a test mule which has opened my eyes to a new and different mod that, although possibly still using the reflector shown, will be much shorter/smaller overall.

But first I need to see if a steady supply of the proposed new host bodies can be reliably obtained.

Now... if you can have 3AAs in a MiniLGI (Novigear light) type of configuration, won't it compliment this reflector size? Makes it much shorter and EDC-able too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cool! Looks like a Carley aluminum reflector..

Very interested to see how you will make a smaller/shorter light with that reflector. Something like what Nerd mentioned above would be nice!

You guys read my mind, am in negotiations w/Novigear right now, but they are OUT of the particular model I used before and the others are all wrong, either plastic or giant (3C's!). So we'll see. If somebody finds an easily available all-metal light that I can convert to this use (3 AAs or 3 AAAs), I'll make him the second one free (first one's mine, of course).

Will call it the LG3...

there are the Aitec Collimator light with 3xAAA full metal jackett and the LedLenser V6.
Both are not superb in quality, but then again, the Novigear isn't either.

Yeah I looked at the Aitec, the way it is made seemed as though it could not be disassembled without destruction of some of the parts I would need reinstalled in the modified light.

The LedLenser V6 -- where would I get one a those?
