Hi guys,

I'd like to know what about the best EDC Flashlight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

-Small like the ARC, slighly bigger ok
-Brighter than ARC , what the brightest ? and what the runtime ?
-The price ?

I saw the post of Kiessling but no HDS Ultime and Extreme, no MrBULK SuperBaby Pin, LionHeart, no ARC 4X then futur ARC 5 there. Maybe others unknow flashlight ? And no prices !!!

So what do you think about this ? Please help me to choose

I'm a very little moder too but I'm not as good as you so I prefer to buy production ready

Good day to you, LC, and welcome to the CPF. I'll be on the sidelines for this discussion but you will probably get a "it depends" for your answer. It really depends on your EDC requirements and how it will be carried.

I EDC a ARC4x and I like it, but since these are hard to come by I vote for the ARC4+. I really like the Fire~Fly and the ARC LSH-P too.
 
Welcome to CPF, Lovecandle.
To be a flashaholic you first need to get "the badge" which is a ARC AAA, which you can EDC in your key-chain or with a lanyard out of your neck. That way when you are talking with a suspected Flashaholic, you pull your key-chain out and play with it, to see his reaction.
The purpose of the lanyard in your neck, is to use it in the beach, even if you don't meet any flashaholics, the chicks will be curious to know what you have hanging there and will flock around you. Don't forget to have handy pen and paper for the phone numbers.

ARC 4+ is very cool, but around $140.00 an E1e will suffice with the 15 lumen and it will set you up about $70.00 in CPF.

A bigger E2e cost about $78-85 and produce 60 lumen, it is the "darling" on many undercover LEO's
Try to EDC something not bigger than that for comfort and to have with you at all times.
You are going to get more good responses from the good peopple in CPF.

Welcome,LC, my heavily biased vote would go to the Arc 4.Also consider the wallet and user friendly Longbow Micra.It is a very flexible light in terms of multiple carry options and mods. They are often available at a very attractive "in-the-door" price of $66.00 each on E-bay.

The HDS lights as well as the Arc5 and the LiionHeart are not yet available and the Arc'x has never truly been /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Prices for the lights incl. all components in my comparison are between 120 and about 220.

I think if the price down to 100 $ it would be great for the ARC 4

140 $ is too high for me
 
Why don't you try a factory second. Arc are selling them on their website for around 100$.

I really like my Arc4+ and my Arc LSHP - both are well built and have very clean beams. However each has different strengths. The 4+ for EDC is probably better due to the multiple settings which I do use (I keep mine with primary at roughly the LSHP brightness, secondary at roughly the ArcAAA setting and still have dimmest and burst when needed - covers about all my bases). The 4+ is kind of like a Spinal Tap amp - when I need a little more oomph for a quick check on something I can go to "11" with burst and it is bright enough for most quick spotting needs.

However, around the house I remain a fan of the LSHP with the 2AA pack. The LSHP remains the best balanced light for me in terms of runtime, brightness, spot and usefull sidespill for general tasks. I can't spot raccoons in trees at 50 yards but when I'm digging around the house on the weekend I have really grown to appreciate it's qualities for most tasks. They pop up on the BST forum, and quite honestly an LSL would probably be just as good and less expensive.
 
Best is what you're willing to carry on a daily basis.

For me it is an Arc AAA on a neck chain.

Plus....

A Mini-Mag or Brinkmann Legend AA light with some kind of replacement LED package (Bad Boy, Mad Max, Opalec, InReTech, etc.) depending on your needs for brightness, battery life, geek factor or whatever. My current is a Brinkmann Legend with an Opalec LED conversion. Good battery life, decent flood and the rubber grip of the Legend has better holster retention compared to the similar Mini Mag setup I lost. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif Downside of the Brinky is the switches are fussy.

Then there is the EDU (every day use) lights. Way too numerous to mention. Just sitting around here and there, begging to be used. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/clap.gif
 
my edc is currently
Infinity ultra on my car keys in right front pocket
Longbow Micra on my right hip
Surefire L4 hanging bezel down in my left front pocket on a quick release Lanyard
I am very happy with all these lights - the Arc lights are supposed to be good too (i dont know ive never owned one)
 
You mention "brighter than ARC". Have you looked at the Peak LED Solutions products? The 3LED AAA is $35 and it's not much larger than the Arc. I'm about to order one myself, because the Arc just isn't quite bright enough in many situations.
