- below polar circle.. in country which used to make
i just received a Led Lenser h7 copy/fake from dealextreme and i for one am suprised how similar they are.
looks and feels the same pretty much in every cathegory to the naked eye. built wise and operationwise and also output seems almost the same (ok the beam is a bit more powerful in the original and the artifacts are less pronounced) but if one can get 3 of the dx versions for one ledlenser i think its worth atleast a try. (or a backup to the "real" headlamp you have.)
there is ofcourse a decent long warranty with the original h7 (10 years?) and if you NEED a headlamp (caver or something) then get the quality item. but if you need a headlamp to use in general tasks i dotn see you making a mistake picking the dx version. sku 29435.
zoom works nicely. dimmer too (althou the travel of the level is bit exxessive.. it reaches maximum output before reaching the limit) the battery holder closes solidly. the aiming up and down clicks of the headlamp doesnt change the angle even if i jump up and down. like many cheap headlamps do
the beam in my sample is not like the one in the dx site when aimed for throw, its better. my beam is nice and round.. not shaped like a led. and artifacts in the spill beam are not as pronounced either.
but caution: i havent pleyed/used this one more than 4 days yet. so things may still go sour. it is still in the testing phase in my mind. cant be sure how it functions and lasts until couple weeks minimal. (im still on my 1st set of batteries) i did leave it on high for 15 minutes to see if it heats up too much but it seems to be fine. and i know i mostly will be using it as flood light and on lower to medium power during fixing car or inside a cabinets where full power would be more blinding than helpful.
but that said: led yaxing is so close to led lenser that i decided to order couple more. will see if it/they will prove to be as good as the original impressions are.
