Surefire 9P - Are they still making it?

Hi all,

I am brand new to this forum (have lurked for a little while) and would like to know if the Surefire 9P has been discontinued. Can anyone offer any info on the subject? I have heard from a couple of people that they have been discontinued, but I have also heard that they are still in production. Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

The 9P is listed on the Surefire Web site, and it is widely available at Internet and brick-and-mortar outlets. I just bought the 9P's little brother, the 6PD, and it is one great light.

SureFire discontinued the 9P in the past, but it has since been brought back (2005?) in a revised version.

It is still in stores, but if you check the cataloge, it is missing along with the C3.

I did notice that it was missing from the main section of the catalogue, but it is still listed in the Flashlight Specifications section (the C3 is not). I will continue the search.

I certainly hope Surefire doesn't stop production of the 9P. I don't like the way their combat lights feel in my hand, and many of their other lights have clips that just get in the way. In my opinion, the Surefire 6P/9P and its other variants are simply perfection for my use.
