I posted this in 2 A2 related threads -

The Surefire A2 Aviator (incandescent version) is no longer on the Surefire website. I was going to it today to read up on specs about it versus the new led only A2 and saw that I couldn't find it anywhere.

So my question is - Is it discontinued? I would say yes - as it reminds me of how they just removed all the rechargeable lights from the site as well.

One of the greatest lights of all time, to me, very sad. :(

They shouldn't have discontinued it! A light as great as that! But I guess they couldn't afford to keep producing it now that the LED fever has hit the world. Shame. A sad day for the flashaholic community. Let us take a moment in silence.:(

I've got an old one I never use with the round body and white leds and incan. I prefer clicky switches now.

this was my first good light, it was a great light but the battery life and price of bulbs sucked. i sold it for 100 bucks and now i feel kind of bad about it.

If you read more about A2, you will find better way to feed with rechargeables and reduce cost of bulb and improve the incan output.

Yeah thanks to the last run of Strion bulb adapters you made (after we collectively nagged you), cheers for that by the way!

Speaking of Strion adapters - I know I nagged really hard for one of those, but I couldn't wait. I bought one on the Marketplace before I found out about the third (or was it fourth?) run. It's still an awesome product, and this way I got it the day before Christmas :)

Long live the Aviator.

Sad they are discontinued, I love my incan A2. It was actually my first really good flashlight, but it's my A2L that is with me everyday.
