Surefire Advice

I'm considering buying a Surefire. While intimidated by the expense, I want to have the best.

I'm considering either the L2 or the L4. I would like the two-stage brightness of the L2, but I understand it will not accomodate the Pila rechargable batteries, which I want to use. I've read that the other rechargable 123s (that likely would fit into the L2) aren't yet a viable option.

Does anyone have some advice on how I could have a 5-watt Surefire with two brightness levels, be able to use rechargable batteries yet still have the option of disposables batteries when needed?

L4 with McGizmo 2 stage switch. Check the Mcgizmo forum for details and ordering info.

You could get the L4 and purchase McGizmo's 2 stage switch from here. That will give you 2 stage brightness for a smaller package, and the choice of using either regular disposable 123s or Pilas with the light
