Newly Enlightened
I picked up a pair of the new Black SureFire "Backup" flashlights today. The same size as a E1e but with two cool changes. Seems every bit as bright as the new E1e lights and use's the good ol CR123 battery.
The Dual Use clip is designed so it can clip to a hat brim but has been redesigned so it can also clip in a pocket with the tail cap out or up as the case may be. Cool
Second is the new Two Level Brightness Beam controlled by the tailcap switch. Click or depress and get bright. Press again and get dim. Continue pressing either locks the beam in that position.
Tight Focused beam but wide enough to see what is along side of you at night. Nice coated lens and a lighter feeling body than a E1e that I just bought a week ago. While not as indestructable feeling I am sure it is as tough as the good ol E1e's. I don't have the guts to try a swap of the light head piece to see if it works on the old case style of the E1e but it looks to be the same size. All in all I like it fine. I carry one of each E series in the truck now. [3 single battery styles]
Check one out when you get a chance...
