Surefire battery problem?

I got an old-style Surefire L1 where I've had 2 surefire batteries that failed. I used it on high for maybe about 30 minutes straight and about an hour or so, total. When I twisted back to low, the light was very faint, you won't notice it was on. After a few minutes of cooling it off, it won't turn on. It happened twice. Don't know if it's the battery's or the flashlight's fault.

Meanwhile, my G2 failed because one of the batteries(still surefire) inside drained faster than the other. How do I know that, I checked both batteries in the L1. The other was fine and the other didn't fire.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Man, I hope it's just the batteries.

Thanks!

It is normal for one of the two batteries in series to discharge faster than the other. I've had this happen in my U2 with the stock batteries. Don't worry. Check your batteries with a ZTS and save the one that still has 40% or whatever when the other is drained down and use it in single light application. Replace both batteries in the two series light with new cells.

Oh good, I hate to think it's the bulb or something.. Well I hope it's also faulty batteries that's behind my L1 issue. Thanks for the advice!
