Surefire currently have C2s in type II black (C2-BK), did they offer the the C2 Centurion in black HA? I've only seen limited run (like the Emerson C2) C2s in black HA in the CPFMP. How hard are they to come by and do they command a premium price? Just wanted to know before i start hunting for one.

Thanks.

The only C2 in Black HA has been the Emerson Special Limited Edition.
It would be great to be proven incorrect but I don't believe I will be... :candle:

I have a C2-HABK SPECIAL I believe it came from the 2006 shot show it is marked "POWER OF LIGHT" opposite of the Surefire logo. I am not sure how many were made but I love the black HA.

Well I never! Have you shared photos of this before and I've missed/forgotten about it?

So that's three specials (two seemingly very rare in addition to the Emerson)
My guess is that SureFire had some leftover from the batch they used for the Emerson pairings.

I just took some quick pics to give you an idea sorry about the quality.

Yep one of the 06 SHOT show C2's went for $89 on Ebay a couple months back. I had my buying finger ready and my computer timed out and the auction ended before I could snag it... it was NIB!

From my post here. Has old-style box, glossy manual, black lanyard ring, and black lanyard.

So do you think these might be one-off's? (as in, only 1 produced, rather than small limited run) That would be really cool.

I doubt they are singular examples - it's a big world and whilst CPF is about the best place to find rare flashlights, there are plenty of owners of rare flashlight who must no know what they've got, or perhaps care to share...

with the exception of the G and P series I don't think surefire is willing to create anything in black...just to be different

E2D and E2DL are all Black HA. Aren't they E series??
Yes. As is the E1B
Technically the ScoutLight and X-Series WeaponLights are too.

My opinion on Black HA vs 'natural' HA is conflicted...
I think that SureFire's HA has a rugged, utilitarian character - charming in its own way. It says "tool" from a performance and substance perspective rather than being homogeneous and bland.

I think that SureFire's Black HA is black-with-character - it has depth and heart - it doesn't try to be boring and a simple wash of paint. It says "cool" from the perspective of understatement rather than being shiny and shallow.

I was fortunate to field-test one of the early U2 proto-types - it was natural HA and in the case of the U2 I believe Black HA is the right choice.
The Millennium Series on the other hand look wrong in black (IMHO).

What I think will be interesting is the what colour selections and perhaps choices SureFire decides to release future products in. I suspect that some will suit Black HA whereas others will look great (but for different reasons) in either.

Al :)
