SureFire C3 Centurion or M3 Combatlight and V30 or V40 holster?

If anyone has a Surefire C3 Centurion or M3 Combatlight and a Surefire V30 or V40 holster can you please try your C3 or M3 in it and let me know if it fits? I am mainly wondering about the V30 holster, because it is slightly shorter than the V40. (don't want it to be longer than it needs to be). Thanks

the V40 should fit the M3. I don't know the specs on the V30, so can't comment on that.

I haven't tried either though.

Waiting for the new L5 (Cree, ETA: Q4/2007) might be a good idea, given ~100 Lumens will do the trick for you.

The V30 is supposed to be for the 8AX/8NX while the V40 is supposed to be for the 9N/9AN lights.

and the 9n/an lights have the same diameter bezel as an M3. They are also slightly longer, so it would still fit even if you used a z48 on your M3.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. So I was also thinking the V30 might be best for the C3, but I'm not sure if the body diameter is too large, with the grip ring and all.

I just bought a Maxfire tonight for my two cell Surefire 6P holster, but the switch was crap so it's going back to Target along with the overpriced LED light I bought.

Thought I would live with that size light, but it doesn't make any sense when I already have a C3 and M3 that basically just sit on the shelf because I can never find a decent holster for them.

Me misinterpreting your op for "C3 vs M3" instead of "V30 vs V40". Sry.

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier as I have the answer to your question. I have the C3 and a V35 holster which is the same size as the V30, just clip on instead of fixed loop. The C3 fits in the holster, however, it is a tight fit because of the rubber grip ring. I need to slightly twist the C3 just as it is almost out of the holster to get it out. It "may" cause some wear to the rubber ring after some time, I don't know yet because I've only had it for less than two weeks. The switch button sits just slightly above the bottom of the holster. I'm not looking at it right now but IIRC, about .5-.75" above the opening. A Z48 switch "may" be able to be used but I'm not sure because the holster seems to get tighter at the bottom. If anything the switch may bottom out and the light may not be able to go as far down. I would guess that the light could still be retained adequately due to the velcro closure on top.

I am also looking for a holster for my Leef body creation and am wondering if the V40/41/45 holsters are large enough to fit the C3 head through it to the bottom. I was just going to start a thread about that.

I do like the Z48 on my M3, so I will probably go with the V40 for it.

Now I'm wondering if I should get a V40 for my C3 as well, since you mentioned the tight fit it has in the V30. I do not like the Z48 with my C3, I just use the stock tailcap (might add a Z58 someday), but it sounds like the V30 may be a little too tight in diameter regardless of length.
