Can someone point me to some beamshot pics of the SureFire E1e (standard) and the E1e with the KL1 LED Conversion Head?

I tried searching, but couldn't find what I was after. My apologies if what I seek is already here.

Thanks in advance. You guys have been very helpful.

You can barely see the edges of the wall in the first image, whereas with the KL1 you can see everything. They may be rated at similar lumen levels but the KL1 is a lot brighter. The MN01 is the standard E1e (unmodified) lamp.

Kevin, that is exactly what I was after. Thank you very much. The KL1 is quite impressive!

So I guess the answer to my next question is "yes." My next question being "Is the KL1 a worthy investment?"

I believe the KL1 is good investment. I think once you use it, you probably won't go back to the MN01.

Go for it. After my first MN01 blew, I switched to the KL1 and never looked back. I've done side-by-side comparisons and the KL1 beats the MN01 in terms of spill AND hotspot - more light all round, so even without an integrating sphere, I can reasonably say it's brighter.

The KL1 is 4X the price of each MN01 lamp, if you pay MSRP (I don't). I do however use my EDC often enough that I would go through a few MN01s, so the KL1 is an investment that keeps paying for itself. Plus it eliminates the bulb going poof at inconvenient times.. the MN01 is quite fragile, IMHO.

KevlinL Any ides how it compares to the E2E? I was considering the KL1 myself. I looks to me the KL1 is more of a flood than a spot, is that a fair statement?

If you get a high dome KL1, there is a clearly evident hotspot with a good amount of sidespill. The hotspot is larger than that of the MN01. However, I don't know how the older low-dome KL1's look, but from reading reviews i've gotten the impression they gennerate a more flood like beam.

The KL1 is definitely a close-range flood. I don't have an E2e, but I have a 6P (65 lumens vs the 60 lumens from an E2e), and it is not only much brighter, it has a lot more throw. I can spot birds at 60ft in the darkness thanks to their brilliant red eyes with the 6P, whereas the KL1 can barely even indicate the presence of the same bird.

They complement each other. The 6P's hotspot is too concentrated for very close range work, the KL1's flood is very much more useful. The KL1 does have a square-ish hotspot though, it's not 100% flood.
