Since Surefire has not made an E3. Has anyone attempted to make an a body that would use an E2's head and tailcap. Perhaps a faithful copy of the body but longer. And what modifications would have to be done to allow it to use a 9 volt bulb???

Wow, Ever hear of a UBH?
I can sell you one for ???? $600.00 dollars, a deal at twice the price

unless of course you happen to have a nice little luxeon light that costs about $600.00 gotta deal?

Actually Dspeck made two runs of bodies that take 3 cr123a lithium or two AA batteries. It excepts the Surefire E series head and tailcap (KL1 fits also). The larger Surefire Head from the C ( D or G) series can be fitted with an E2C adaptor. Go here to see the UBHII thread.

D speck will be taking orders for an extra E series cell extender. If you are interested see his thread here

To be able to run a KL1 from inexpensive AA batteries, while you can convert it (with an E2C converter) to a C3, M3 or slap a Turbohead onto it, and at the same time, able to run a UBH and the 123 extender as an M4, and also make a 3AA extender to run an E2x MN02/03 lamp or a longer runtime KL1, not to mention that you can use this on McLux TKs or DIY kits later on, there's a LOT of flexible variations available to you with this configuration...
