I was wondering if someone had a schematic or explaination for the wires in a HF power cord? The UH-01D cord has an addional connector after the battery connections that allows for a pigtail that has an automotive plug on it. The UH-01C cord does not have this additional connector.

I was hoping to mod my UH-01C cord to allow for use in my car's lighter connection without having to drop $800 on the UH-01D cord.

Thanks

Hi MTAR15!:wave::welcome:

I took a look at my Hellfighter cables and this is what I found:

When you are looking at the face of the connector, directly at the pins that are labeled A, B, C, D, E, the configuration is as follows...

- Pin A and Pin C are connected together by way of a small wire jumper inside the connector (or however you want to short them together.)

- Pin B is +12 VDC input (red wire)

- Pin D is not used

- Pin E is DC ground input (black wire)

Keep in mind that the Hellfighter draws about 7 amps on startup, then ramps down to about 3 amps when running.

If you plan on putting an in-line fuse into the wiring (recommended), I would think a 10 amp fuse would be sufficient.

Good luck and have fun! :)
