I have a source that said the new KX3 heads will be mated to the 6P and 9P bodies soon and selling as a new light. The AI may be switched so the settings go High, Med, Low as opposed to the Low, Med, High of the G2D and G3D. I have no idea when or price point. I am figuring somewhere in the 150 dollar range and after the holidays but if the parts are in stock you may see them sooner.

Is the same KX3 with plastic reflector, lens, and driver housing melted together for assembly?

Not outside. Open it up and look around in there. If you don't find any plastic in there or a driver housing held together by flanges of melted plastic then I'm very pleased it's improved.

Is the outside (body) of the KX3 HA aluminum? I hope so. It would still be a nice piece to mod and mess around with.
