Hi All,

I got a Surefire Lawman a few months ago as a standby light to keep in the car but its not really suited to the job as the Li-ion batt goes flat in a few weeks due to the parasitic drain of the switching circuits.

Anyway I replaced the light with one of my trusty mcGizmos and thought I'd set about opening the head to re centre the reflector that had been off centre since the light arrived and was annoying me.

Well I got the head open fine but dropped the reflector on the ground and scratched it !!!

The reflector is a cheap plastic thing anyway and I thought it would be a good time to try and find something a bit better.

It measures as follows:

35.5 mm diameter
22.5mm deep
7.4mm hole at rear.

Anyone got any ideas where I could get a suitable replacement?

I would send it back to Surefire and ask them to fix or replace it. They will take care of you. I'd be extremely hesitant to open up a brand new Surefire because I wanted to fix something the factory should've done in the first place.

Just my .02, sorry I'm not more helpful.

Of course thats what I should have done in the first place but in the UK SF customer service is nowhere near as good as it is in the US :-( and it would be quite involved

Ah, sorry, I didn't catch you were in the UK.

CPF member Tana is over there (Europe) and does some excellent mod work and might be able to point you in the right direction.

I would just ring surefire, 8 hour time difference. it 17:30 your time now & 09:30 in California. tell them your reflector broke & ask them to send a replacement reflector. I have always been honest with them & they are very understanding. worst case is they may charge postage but do not in the usa. they may charge for the reflector but I have never been charged when asking for unavailable or out of stock parts that broke or i wanted. they are very good about not caring about what you did to your light & rarely ask. the customer experience is superb. above & beyond the call of duty. do not use email. they take too long to respond.

Well that was a waste of time. They were spectacularly unhelpful ! They said they don't send out heads (I didn't ask them to) and don't dismantle heads or deal in parts.

Oh well I guess that will teach me not to be so O.C.D. and stick with custom lights.

Did you tell them the beam profile was off center, or did you ask them to send you a replacement reflector?

I told the truth. Said the beam was out and I had opened the head and damaged the reflector.

They didn't seem to mind that I had opened the head but insisted the whole light be returned which is just not practical from here with shipping costs and the risk of another 20% + £8 duty. I guess its just the risk you run when buying products from overseas.

I'll find the reflector somehow, SF must buy them from somewhere :-)

Ahh Ha! I have found what seem to be identical reflectors at DX. I'll report back when they arrive.
