As we all know, SureFire makes changes to lights as they go along. For example, the wedge/shim on the E2E/E2O, the nylon washer on the E2O, the "scalloped" bezel on the KL1, E2E, E2O and A2.

What changes would one look for in the M2 over the last.... say 12-months. Have there been any changes? Is there anything to look for to ensure that one is getting the most recent version (other than ordering directly from SF)?

I think I remember hearing that the non clip side (bottom) of the main tube is flat instead of rounded on newer models. Other than that, I don't know.

Flat side added;
Patent number added;
Better seal of the lens(if not mistaken);

the extra flat side is the only significant change to the M2 so far that i know of. other less obvious and important changes include different laser etchings, belt clips (old ones had no stamped lanyard attachment point), and the thin milled portion around the knurled area on the tailcap.

I have two very very old M2s in blister packs that did not have the larger shock isolated bezel. What they look like are C2s (with extra O rings).
