Surefire New L1 Dimension

I forgot who mentioned it the new L1 will have a shorter body but someone here on the forum posted the specs from the 2007 catalog on the L1 that showed a length of 4.95.
Anyone knows the actual length?

There are many speculations out here and averywhere, my guess is the same as yours. I suggest to just hang tight and wait for the release of the actual light. Whatever the dimensions, I will invest in one since I really enjoyed the L1 rounded body tht I have.

Hopefully it's the same size as the current model. I received an email from Surefire that the upgraded L1 will be available after June 1st. I'll buy one as soon I get my tax refund

Most probably shorter according to Size15, which is good as there is alot of room to shorten it and it will be more handsome that way. 10lmn on low and 65lmn on high would be also useful but personally I still prefer the 1.1lmns on the existing. Don't forget to get F04 beamshaper for it for wide spill.....best of both worlds.

Err, the new L1 is going to have a P60 like beam IIRC

Indeed. In my opinion you'll only need a BeamDiffuser on the new Cree models if you currently use one on your E2e/6P for really close up work. Otherwise the light distribution of the beams from the new Cree models is excellent in terms of being both intense and providing surround beam light.

As for the length of the new L1. I do not know the exact length but from what I recall at SHOT Show 2007 it was overall a bit shorter than the current version.
