I've been thinking about picking up and older gen X200 pistol light to modify. In looking at pictures of the model, I've noticed that the optic is quite different from that of the current generation of Surefire optics. It looks quite like an aspheric lens.

Has anyone had experience using this optic? Does it produce a tight, far-throwing beam (yes, please!)?

I recall a thread a looong while ago where Milky put, IIRC, a similar looking optic from an older gen. E1L or L1 into a Novatac with a P4 and it made quite the handy pocket thrower. Anyone have links to that thread? I believe there was also a sales thread at some point...

Anyway, if you have any thoughts on this mod, especially concerning the optic and the beam pattern it produces, please chime in...

I'll try to keep this thread updated and full of pics.

I have an X200 hanging from my Glock in my nightstand. It throws a square shaped beam that at about 25' away is about 1' in diameter. I wouldn't call it a very far thrower. But its still good to keep around. I have been interested in modding it for a while. Hope it helps some.
