Tactical as an EDC

Never. The only light that ever turned on in my pocket was Fenix P2d. Twice, actually.

gah, Bastids! think last few posts have just made it like 50/50  lol
Go figure...someone feel free to say "buy both" (not really relevant, but you can say it anyway - :green:)

I've had an E1B with an E2DL tailcap clipped to my pocket. It's bezel down inside my pocket clipped to the outer part of my pocket. All you can see is the clip and the tailcap if I have a shorter shirt on.

I've had this tailcap on for about 3 months and have never turned it on. With the stock E1B tailcap (for about 2 months) it still never activated itself.

If you have it floating around in your pocket I'm sure the possibility is there but if you have it clipped to something it's kind of hard. I only keep my keys in that pocket so I don't have 20 things in there to turn it on.

I am not sure what you mean by "tactical"...

I'll state it this way... I have never had a tailcap clicky light come on accidentally.
All the ones I own have a firm click button so it hasn't been a problem.

My surefire Z41 lights could be a problem if I don't twist the tailcap past the index notch.

I have had problems with my Zebralight and 2AA minimag. Fortunately the Zebralight has a tailcap lockout that is a must IMHO. The Minimag has LONG ago been retired for this and countless other reasons.

My E2e has been switched on twice when I carried it loose in my pocket and I only noticed it when it got really hot.

I EDC an E1B clipped bezel down in the pocket and although I've never had a problem with it turning on, after the experiences with the E2e I'm usually locking it out, just to be safe.

This isn't a thread about the merits of tactical or regular :scowl: :D

Rather, FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I'd like to know if you find that your tactical single cell EDC has a tendency to accidentally turn on? (I'm debating on another quark...)

(Those of you that consistently use lockout feature, need not apply ;) )
Thanks

Carry my NT 120T loose in front pocket, never had it turn on.

But have had a Fenix P2D and a SF L1 turn on, the L1 was in Jeans - where it has twisted the TC..... I guess by getting in and out of the car, sitting on chairs ect, happened 2 or 3 times.

Get a lumapower avenger, you get both twisty and clicky tailcaps in the same package!

three lights i own that have turned on by itself..

zebralight h501 (the clicky is too easy to click on)
nitecore d10 (i somehow am able to drop my keys on its button)
shiningbeams x2t twisty (too loose twist action..)

and only the x2t i would be willing to give away..

but none of my true tactical lights are turning on by themselves.. maybe briefly momentarily (but have never noticed it happening)
