did anybody else notice dan has D/A microtech knives? i never noticed!

I've got a SOCOM that I carry everyday. They are GREAT knives which are manufactured right here in Florida...Vero Beach to be exact.

Does he have more than the one version listed on his site?

i remember him saying he had more models but they're not listed on the site. just email him.

i had a microtech lcc, man that was one sweet knife. butter smooth action and tight lockup. blade was sv30 and scary sharp. fit and finish was excellent.

but you know how it goes, you start eyeing something else and wind up selling something /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

tkl -- was yours a DA. Because if it was, I'm not sure I can hold your opinions in the same high level of esteem I had previously.

huh? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif mine was manual, i've played with auto knives but never owned one. well, once i had a cheapie stiletto i bought in mexico, but that doesn't count /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ahh, my faith is restored.
I've never owned one either, but the DA has such a nice and low profile means of deployment that if I ever got one I don't think I would sell it.

there ARE legal ways to own them. join the police, military, or parameds.

and/or: live in the proper state. like florida, or rhode island,
or even california (limited to something like an INCH - good lord, how
dangerous :>)

stupid law if you ask me

*grump*

stupid law indeed, you can wave open an emerson, or flick about any other folder open as fast as an auto. hell, in texas you can carry up to a 5.5 blade concealed!!

just one of the many ignorant laws we shouldn't concern ourselves with.

it's funny that in texas, and most other states, you can't carry a "decent" knife, like a bowie, on your person, let alone concealed.

i believe there are a few instances where you can, but generally, no; bowies
are specifically mentioned in the laws too. why? they can clean lop off
a limb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif har. right.

i read about a few years ago, a guy with non sharpended broadsword, being
carried on his back in semi-traditional style leather strap holder (no
case, just a strap and two rings), was arrested for "concealed weapsons"
carry. hah. the thing was 4-5 feet long. sheesh.

Microtechs are hard to beat, but they are expensive. I had a couple of LCC's but found them too thick for me. They are as close to a handmade knife as I have ever seen in a production. During the big auto knife boom I had one of everything they made and sold them at a profit, now auto's don't interest me as much, and apparently a lot of people feel that way.

I think TW's prices are way high BTW.

I can wave my commander out faster than a switch blade can be switched. It's silly fast/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
