Tale of 2 Gladius

A friend of mine wanted me to mod his gladius with the newer Led.
So instead of ruining his gladius, I opted to send it to the Night-ops Superstore to have them do the upgrade..

I ordered the upgrade on 1/07/2008 , shipped the gladius a couple of days later .
I got the modded gladius back 2/28/2008. It took way too long..

So I thought I would at least take a beamshot or two..

I still have my unmodded gladius so I could make a comparison.

The Seoul modded gladius on the left and the unmodded Lux3 gladius on the right.

The seoul led looks to be centered...

The Lux3 led on my unmodded gladius..

Definitely brighter and more spill.

I think the seoul mod made the gladius beam more usefull , it is definitely brighter than the stock gladius. And Im sure the runtime will be better due to the efficiency of the newer seoul led.

I didnt like the time it took for them to get it back to me..

Want a Seoul-modded gladius without the huge turnaround? The H2x Typhoon II is just that.. a p4 ssc stock. I've read that the beam is much better as well.

Thanks for the comparrison, great side by side. Now if we can just get the H2X II in that line-up we'd have us a good ol'fashion shootout.

I can barely see a difference in the two outdoor photos. Perhaps it is due to my old monitor.

BTW, is the plural form of Gladius Gladii ?

I had the same mod done shortly after the program started. It was well done and the upgrade is outstanding. The combination of throw and smooth transition to spill is excellent. It remains a truly excellent light with an excellent UI.

The Typhoon 2 was being advertised as 170lm, but now is being advertised @ 120lm! Wonder why.

Dying to compare beamshots between the Typhoon 2 and the new Inova T3.

When I spoke to Insite they stated a maximum of 150 lumens. The specs are minimum of 120 and max of 150. Guess it depends on the individual emitter
